The Fastest Way to Capture Missed Video Opportunities: Inform’s Perfect Pixel plus Page Intelligence

The Fastest Way to Capture Missed Video Opportunities: Inform’s Perfect Pixel plus Page Intelligence

Inform recently announced the release of Digital Media Exchange or DME (read about it here). DME replaces Inform’s Control Room as a more technologically advanced and user intuitive OVP and CMS. DME is home to Inform’s unrivaled content library, Playlists, and Analytics including Page Intelligence.

Page Intelligence is the tracking of page views across your site(s) combined with the tracking of Inform video and Inform video views. Instantly view which of your stories are receiving the most views and identify those lacking premium video content. Maximize your digital revenue and user experience by adding contextually relevant video to those stories.

Video promises better site engagement, with viewers spending an average of 36% more time on sites sharing video. More so, video offers a 10x CPM over display ads. According to Video Intelligence, video will account for 82% of all online traffic by 2021.

Within Page Intelligence, select the title of the story you’d like to add video to and DME will bring you directly to your article page. Launch Inform’s Perfect Pixel Bookmarklet (see instructions for installing Inform’s Perfect Pixel Bookmarklet) to instantly place monetized premium content on your page.

Inform introduces the Digital Media Exchange with Page Intelligence analytics

ATLANTA, April 19, 2018 – Inform Inc. today announces the launch of Digital Media Exchange (DME), a major update of the technology and tools that power Inform’s digital video platforms and services provided to 4,000+ media publishers.  The release is provided as a free upgrade to all of Inform’s publishers, and will greatly improve the syndication, monetization and distribution of high-quality video to over 50 million unique viewers per month.

Inform publishers will see significant improvements to the platform, including:

  • Mobile video upload and management capabilities, allowing reporters at news events, press conferences and sports competitions to quickly publish video from their phones
  • High-quality video previews, now available in high-definition, so editors can find the right video to add to their local stories
  • Real-time video performance analytics and on-demand revenue reporting, enabling optimization of video revenue
  • Trending video dashboards showing the hottest videos across Inform’s thousands of publishers

DME is also home to Page Intelligence analytics, a new way for publishers to identify trending stories on their websites.  Page Intelligence shows editors exactly which of their stories are generating audience, with video placement and performance data to aid those editors in creating high-value video advertising opportunities.  Editors can now know that their actions directly generate revenue.

“There’s no better way for publishers to grow audience engagement and digital ad revenue than by adding high-quality video content that’s contextually relevant to the stories that are generating page views,” said Greg Peters, CEO, Inform. “DME is the first unified video publishing solution. It combines brand-safe video content, monetization, placement optimization and analytics to help publishers elegantly cover 100% of their pages with the best video for their readers. DME helps publishers leave no page behind.”

Existing publishers on Inform will receive access to the Digital Media Exchange today, with training and tours being offered by each publisher’s Inform business contact or by emailing

New publishers are welcome to inquire about opportunities to join Inform, and have access to the DME, Page Intelligence, and over 5,000 new videos daily from more than 500 brand-safe media companies, including CBS, USA Today, Reuters, Bloomberg, E! and Fox Sports.  All of this is available without cost to the publisher, who will enjoy incremental digital revenue through Inform’s monetization excellence.

Stay Informed: ads.txt

Have you implemented Ads.txt?

In partnership with Google and IAB, Inform is implementing ads.txt across all of our publisher relationships to increase media buying efficiency, and we would like you to add our ads.txt to your file, and keep it updated.

What is ads.txt?

Ads.txt is an IAB-approved text file that aims to prevent unauthorized inventory sales. It is the mechanism that allows publishers to list their Authorized Digital Sellers and is a frontline weapon against inventory spoofing. You can learn more about the specs of this program HERE.

Why do I need to do this?

Inform curates advertisers for our publishing partners and those advertisers are requiring ads.txt in order to validate that Inform has the rights to sell inventory on that specific domain. The Inform Seller IDs listed in the ads.txt file represent the technology powering our ad delivery.

What do you need to do now?

Simply visit Inform’s Support Center to copy and paste the text there to your ads.txt domain or simply add the Inform Seller IDs to your existing ads.txt file.

It is important ads.txt is implemented properly, with only one entry per line,  in order for buying platforms to recognize the information. If the ads.txt file posted is inaccurate, buyers may not recognize your inventory as authorized and will devalue it.

We recommend that a member of your development team handle the implementation of the ads.txt file on your root domain. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if we can provide any assistance.

Why will I need to update my ads.txt file?

We are continuing to sell more strategic and higher priced deals which will require new seller IDs to be added to the ads.txt file. We will do our best to keep these updates as infrequent as possible for your convenience. Please email us at to subscribe for updates to our ads.txt file.

What will happen if you don’t act now?

Trading desks like DoubleClick Bid Manager (DBM), Appnexus and others have already stopped purchasing inventory from sites that are noncompliant with ads.txt. They will also start blacklisting noncompliant domains going forward.

If publishers do not adopt ads.txt, buyers which have adopted ads.txt into their buying process may exclude those publisher’s’ inventory and no longer bid on it, resulting in less demand for the publisher. This will ultimately mean a loss in ad revenue.

Thank you for helping to combat ad fraud and improve monetization.

The Inform Floating Video Player: Delivering Premium Video the Right Way

Since the Inform Floating Video Player‘s launch, participating publishers have seen a 500% growth in video revenue, month over month. In addition, publishers who use the player have seen ad viewability increase to over 65%.

How does the player work? The floating video embeds directly onto the article page, and as users scroll down, a 400X version of the player snaps to the side of the browser and “floats” within view for best user experience. Viewers have control of the player, and can move the floating unit or close it completely.

Reach out to your Account Manager or email us at to start the implementation process today.
